James R Beers Scholarship Endowment
Beers + Cutler and founding partner Jim Beers established the James R. Beers Scholarship Endowments by gifting $250,000 to both the George Mason University School of Management and the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. The endowments provide scholarships for undergraduate accounting students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and leadership.
Scholarships are awarded annually by each university to junior and senior accounting students based on a range of criteria including:
- Accounting majors
- Accounting and cumulative GPA
- Evidence of leadership
- Financial need
Beers + Cutler has long standing relationships with both universities and is committed to supporting and strengthening the accounting profession. Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Leaders' Institute
Beers + Cutler gifted $100,000 to the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Educational Foundation to establish the Leaders' Institute which provides aspiring CPAs with training on the interpersonal skills they will need to succeed.
