August 23, 2007, Tysons Corner, VA – The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business along with Beers + Cutler, the leading accounting and consulting firm focused on the Washington, D.C. region, today announced the recipients of the James R. Beers Scholarships. Selected from a pool of more than 260 applicants, the 2007-2008 scholarships are awarded to:

Beers Scholarship recipients as they demonstrate stellar academic achievement and strong leadership qualities, both inside and outside of the classroom,” said Howard Frank, dean of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. “Both the Smith School and Beers + Cutler are dedicated to producing business leaders and creating opportunities for students to achieve their highest academic goals and we look forward to a productive, successful partnership together,” Frank added.

Beers + Cutler and Jim Beers created the James R. Beers Scholarship Endowment to recognize outstanding academic performance in the undergraduate accounting program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
