GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY AND BEERS + CUTLER ANNOUNCE 2007 - 2008 RECIPIENTS OF JAMES R. BEERS SCHOLARSHIP

September 12, 2007, Tysons Corner, VA – George Mason University along with Beers + Cutler, the leading accounting and consulting firm focused on the Washington, DC region, today announced the recipients of the James R. Beers Scholarships. The 2007- 2008 scholarships are awarded to:

Ali Barzinji Ratima Chowadee
Amanda Burns Sheekha Singh
Meghan Gallardo Yuan Thompson

“This year’s scholarship recipients represent the University’s very best and we are proud to recognize them for their academic accomplishments and leadership in the classroom and community,” said Richard Klimoski, Dean of the George Mason University School of Management. “We have a long-standing history of educating some of this region’s brightest young minds. This legacy has been enhanced through our partnership with Beers + Cutler and the financial support these scholarships provide to our top accounting students,” Klimoski added.

“We join the George Mason School of Management in congratulating this year’s recipients for their commitment to academic excellence and strong leadership abilities,” said Ed Offterdinger, managing partner, Beers + Cutler. Having served as a professor teaching courses in accounting, entrepreneurship and finance in the U.S. and internationally, there is a natural connection between my personal commitments and those of the School of Management in fostering the pursuit of academic excellence,” Beers added.

Beers + Cutler and Jim Beers created the James R. Beers Scholarship Endowment to recognize outstanding academic performance in the undergraduate accounting program at the George Mason University School of Management.
